Back Pain Recovery in Minneapolis-St. Paul

Low back pain is the most common issue people come to us for at Evo Performance Rehab. This can take on a lot of different symptoms, including pain in the back itself, pain radiating down the legs, such as the sciatic nerve, or pain radiating up the back and into the neck. No matter which of these symptoms you have, we always start with the nervous system when we treat low back pain.

If someone has an MRI that shows disc degeneration or disc herniation, we want to work with them in the most productive way possible to get them moving better and healing faster. For most people who have seen a chiropractor, a physical therapist, or multiple practitioners throughout a chronic injury, we are typically going to approach things differently than they have so far.

From Being Bedridden to Competing In Olympic Lifting

We had a client who had three severely damaged discs in her low back. This resulted in significant pain on a regular basis. She could hardly get out of bed or put on her shoes. At least four to six times throughout the year, she would go on a terrible spree. She desperately wanted to avoid surgery because of the risks of other complications and had tried many therapies before she reached us.

When we first checked her out and started working with her, her lower legs and feet were the areas that didn't talk to her nervous system well enough to absorb force. Everyone previously had approached her back, core, and pelvis. But we learned she had had foot surgery on both feet about 15 years earlier. The surgery and her compensation afterward had caused a significant change in how her lower legs were working, which made the positions upstream, especially in her pelvis and low back, change to compensate.

When we worked to teach her lower legs and feet how to absorb force and talk to their muscles again, her back pain went away completely. And she could return to strength training and compete in Olympic lifting in short order. She is now significantly healthier than she was when we worked with her. She continues to be a high performer and is thankful for the way our therapy system helped her think outside the box.

Pain Free Sciatic Nerve In Her First Session

We had a client come in who had had two back surgeries previously, and she presented with significant pain radiating down her sciatic nerve if she reached down into flexion as if she were trying to touch her toes. She would get stuck with a shooting pain as soon as her hands crossed her knee. This pain stopped her in her tracks and caused interruptions in her sleep and an inability to do all kinds of tasks throughout her day.

When we did our evaluation, we found dysfunction in her hamstring. And by enhancing the communication in the hamstring and re-educating the movement pattern, she could touch her palms flat to the floor within her first treatment session with a "2 out of 10" level of pain traveling down her typically eight out of 10 hamstring and sciatic nerve paths. During therapy, she kept this range of motion and got stronger and more stable. She has kept these improvements for years after therapy ended.

From Squashed Spine To An Active Lifestyle Without Painkillers

The most rewarding back pain situation I have personally been a part of was with an Afghanistan veteran. This man had sustained an injury in combat when another soldier had fallen from a rooftop and landed directly on top of him as he was standing. His spine got squashed, and as a result, six of the discs in his thoracic and lumbar spine were badly hurt.

After he came back from Afghanistan to the United States, his pain got worse, and none of the traditional treatments helped except for a lot of oxycodone. He was on 18 times the usual dose of oxycodone that someone would receive after surgery. By the time I met him, six years after coming back from overseas, he was a father of young children and a business vice president who was unable to enjoy any of these aspects of his life due to chronic pain.

We began the process of neurological soft tissue therapy without ever having to stimulate any of his low back muscles. We kept our attention on the neurological sources we had found in his hamstrings, adductors, and lower legs. By working through this process, he regained full range of motion, like palming the floor in a toe touch, and was off all medications within 30 days.

He continues to maintain an active lifestyle with his young children and wife, lifting weights and working to grow his family business. He has kept these results for the last two and a half years since starting the process.

I learned of Evo, and of Tyler and his alternative treatments, got assessed by him. It isn't my hip - its the knee muscles not functioning properly. After just a couple of sessions, I am feeling a REMARKABLE improvement. Get his assessment. It can change your life - like it has mine.

Tyler is a wizard. I can't tell you how many testimonies I hear about the success of his work. He finds the root cause of your pain, and treats the root rather than the fruit. I HIGHLY recommend that you go and see Tyler!!!

Dominic is fantastic. When my daughter introduced us I was determined to get out of pain in my back knees and shoulders. He had this machine that he could fine where the pain was coming from and he worked on those areas. It was amazing. I have been pain free for over a year now. I can climb stairs without pain in my knees. I do the exercises he gave me every morning. If you suffer from any pain I recommend seeing him.
